I had the honour of unveiling a plaque to one of the Catalpa Six, Robert Cranston, right in his hometown of Stewartstown, An Craobh, County Tyrone.

I gave my talk on the Catalpa Rescue and the welcome was just incredible. Huge thanks to Adrian Devlin, the Joe McKelvey Society and all the 1916 Societies who turned out for this 150th anniversary – the response was brilliant. I gave it 100% in delivery.

It was a special day all round (helped by Louth beating Armagh and Tyrone beating Mayo – we were buzzing!). I was presented with a stunning bronze plaque of the Catalpa Rescue, a commemorative Robert Cranston badge, and got to stay in the beautiful thatched Rosehill Cottage. Even had a brilliant tour all around the area.

Met some fantastic people and made memories that’ll last. Nights like this are what it’s all about!
